The modern resort of Ixtapa is five kilometres away. It was a sleepy fishing village until the early 1970?s, which is when the construction of Ixtapa begun. Zijuatanejo is now a popular destination. The beautiful bay is one of it?s main attractions.

A piñata hangs above the street in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. The star?s called a piñata and is a Mexican Christmas tradition. It?s made from a clay pot filled with candies. At Christmas, blindfolded children will hit it with a long stick to break it and release the goodies. Zihuatanejo is a small town on Mexico?s southwest Pacific Coast in the state of Guerrero.
